Product Design — 2019

Polette reimagined eyewear retail around accessibility and a digital-first business model. With affordable frames and physical stores dedicated to trying on glasses and obtaining prescriptions, the digital experience was the primary sales channel — making usability, trust, and a seamless path to purchase essential to the brand.

As the sole UX/UI designer, I led the evolution of the app and web experiences, working closely with developers to translate business needs into functional, user-centred solutions. Alongside redesigning both platforms, I advocated for a stronger mobile web experience, expanding access to the brand beyond the app and creating a more cohesive journey across touchpoints.

The focus was on creating a more intuitive, consistent experience across every digital touchpoint — from discovering frames and exploring styles to understanding prescriptions and completing a purchase. Balancing user needs with technical constraints, I worked hand in hand with development to refine existing flows, improve usability, and build a stronger foundation for the brand’s digital growth.

A key part of the work was bridging the gap between the physical and digital experiences. With customers relying on digital channels to browse and buy, the design needed to make choosing eyewear feel simple, personal, and reassuring — without the ability to complete a purchase in-store. By rethinking the experience across app and mobile web, I helped shape a more accessible, connected journey that supported Polette’s digital-first model.
